How I Got Started

Compared to most I started out not too young. I was about 20 years old when I started and coming from a snowboarding background it came natural to me. I loved to snowboard but didn’t like the cold too much. So one day when I went to the lake in my Hometown Bakersfield, Ca with some people and tried out this wakeboard I fell in love and knew that’s what I wanted to do. My family didn’t have a boat and I didn’t come from money but tons of support, so I figured everything I could to get my hands on a boat and ended up with a $500.00 jet boat that had wood seats with no upholstery and the exhaust pipe that kept burning my rope whenever I tried to ride. no matter what it worked and I continued riding and traveling where ever I could to get started. After a few years trying to become someone of this sport in Bakersfield I went from floors and couches all over until I made my name and could support myself and make an impact in this industry. Where everything happened was from this small gated community called Canyon Lake, Ca. I grew close to many and became pretty much family to a few. The wakeboard community pretty much down there you become a family in its self. My Guy Randall The Vandall Harris was a big part on helping me along with the other legends as far as Byerly and Gator and many more. I had a lot of support from people down there that I would think saw the dedication I had and held out a helping hand.. almost 15 years later I’m still here and Co- owner of a wakeboard company and still promoting sponsors and myself and a daily grind. I wouldn’t change anything and I’m thankful everyday that I get to continue doing what I love everyday as a career and being able to have amazing supporters all through out my career and take care of my family.
